The iDirect 5150 Satellite Router is one of the key component of a V-Sat system. This modem offers Optional 256-bit AES encryption, which can be used to replace a traditional VPN tunnel.

For optimal network performance, a traditional iPSec tunnel should NOT be used over the satellite link as IPsec packets reduces the performance of the connection. To optimize performance, the customer's VPN router is therefore co-located at the NOC, where a Virtual LAN is setup. This Virtual LAN is transfered via the satellite link to the remote location and is encrypted by the iDirect platform using military grade 256-bit AES encryption.

Developed specifically to support the business critical applications of enterprise customers, the iNFINITI 5000 Series combines a flexible networking platform with the highest TCP/IP throughput in the industry - 18 Mbps downstream, and 4.2 Mbps upstream. This high bandwidth capacity, combined with iDirect's network flexibility, and Quality of Service (QoS) allows the iNFINITI 5000 Series to go beyond traditional satellite networking, and operate as an extension of your landline network.
