Galaxy 19 Installation guide
Galaxy 19, formerly Galaxy 25, formerly Telstar 5 is located at 97ºWest
Footprint & Angles
- Consult the Galaxy 19 satellite footprint to determine if you are within the covered area
- Consult the look angles page to determine the Azimuth and Elevation for Telstar 5 at your location
Dish Assembly
- Mount the dish as shown in the assembly manual provided with the dish.
- Find a proper position to mount the dish on your house (according to the look angles) and install the base according to our Baseplate Installation page.
- Mount the LNBF on the feed bracket, but do not tighten to the maximum yet.
LNBF Rotation
- The rotation of the LNBF is a critical part of the installation. If the LNBF is not rotated properly, your system will not work.
- The Clock position of the LNBF means that the CONNECTOR of the LNBF must be at the correct position, as shown in the picture below.
- The LNBF positions below are indicative only. It is critical to do a fine adjustment of the LNBF rotation once you've found your satellite signal!

| Atlantic | East Coast | Central | West Coast | |
| Standard LNBF (Position of the connector) | 5:00 | 5:30 | 6:30 | 7:00 |
| Cylindrical LNBF (Line) | 5:00 | 5:30 | 6:30 | 7:00 |
Searching for the signal
(menu selection varies with receiver model being used)
- Connect your Mpeg-2 free-to-air receiver to the LNBF: IF INPUT / SAT ANT IN / LNBF IN.
- Do not change the default settings of your receiver and go directly to the ANTENNA SETTING / SIGNAL menu of the receiver.
- Set the Satellite to Galaxy 19 (also Galaxy 25 or Telstar 5) and set the frequency to 12,152 Ghz / Horizontal / 20,000 MSPS.
- Slowly adjust the Azimuth and Elevation of the dish until you find a signal.
- When you find the signal, try to maximize its value by moving the dish very slowly.
- The final adjustment step it to slightly rotate the LNBF to see if you can improve the signal (without moving the dish).
- Once you have the optimal signal, tighten the dish and the LNBF bracket (do not overtighten of you may break the bolts).
